Our Environment.
Due to past logging practices which abused the natural environment here at home and across the world, it is important for us to source our timber from reputable wood mills that can track the origins of the wood supply. Working with land owners to make sure the timber is derived from legal sources and collected in an environmentally sustainable way. Most of the wood stock that we work with will fall under certification schemes. These schemes are Pan European Forest Certification Scheme, O.L.B. certification, Forest Stewardship Council and Sustainable Forestry Initiatives.
As woodworkers we understand more than most the importance of balance with nature, our livelihood and creative inspiration is intrinsically connected with our natural world. Because of this we are huge fans and supporters of www.worldlandtrust.org.
“World Land Trust (WLT) was one of the first organisations in the world focusing specifically on the conservation of threatened habitats through land purchase”
So far WLT has purchased and protected over 2,409,420 Acres of forest land across the world. They not only purchase land, but also reforest sections that have been destroyed and employ local experts to keep and maintain the forests that are purchased. This not only supports the trees and plant life but also the animals that in a lot of cases are endangered, and keep their habitats safe for them to thrive in.
If you like our products please do visit WLT and have a look at the amazing things they do.
